What is your professional experience?

I have a Masters degree in education and taught school for 13 years. I am a former administrator in health care (long term care) Currently co-owner with my wife of our farm (Landess Farm) growing fruits and vegetables.

In 2004 I ran for the Indiana state house of representatives

What are the specific skills that you bring to the position for which you are running?

I am an excellent listener and want to solve problems that are causing hurt and discouragement. Business skills from operating a business for the last 35 years.

What are your top 3 priorities if you are elected?

Balanced spending increase business opportunities for the township

How do your values motivate your run for office?

I believe it is vital for a democracy to have a two or three party system so voters can have a choice. With what we see today there is a definite difference in our country.

We recognize that some elected positions may not have a direct role in addressing some of these issues, but if you had an opportunity to have an impact, what would you want that to be?

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to support the rights of

a. LGBTQ+ individuals?

All people need to be treated fairly as human beings and not unfairly. I serve people on our farm that are LGBTQ+ individuals with respect and dignity

b. people with disabilities?

I have worked with and hired people with disablities . We do all in our power to accomodate the disabled during our Fall festivities, i.e. hayrides, playground area, etc.

c. people experiencing poverty?

I am chairman of the board for Neighbors in Need that serves the homeless and food needy population. The organization focuses on housing and other assistance for basic needs.

d. immigrants?

I have assisted with work opportunities in the past and will do so in the future

e. people who are racial or ethnic minorities/minoritized individuals?

Again people are human beings no matter the color of your skin or where one comes from and need to be treated that way

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to support voter access? (This might include your position on vote centers, polling hours, voter IDs, signature matching, the SAVE act, etc.)

I want to encourage people to vote and not turn them away from an election system as we have in this country

In recent months, federal agencies have overstepped the power of local and state governments. In what contexts would you support resistance by local officials?

Local officials definitely control the elections and not the federal government. To that end I will pledge myself. To protect an individual's rights is the highest calling one can have. If we do not work for that goal we will lose our freedoms in this country. We must have respect for ourselves and then give respect to others around us.

In recent months, federal agencies have overstepped the constitutional rights of the people. How would you protect and defend our constitutional rights?

As long as I breathe I will help to protect others around me.

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to support healthcare access for all?

Every person should have basic health care again as I have said before it is inhumane if we as a society do not provide the care needed.

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to address the affordability of

housing costs?

This is a challenge for all of us. If inflation continues to rise with tariffs it affects every aspect of our livelihood.Tariffs help no one except possibly the top one percent of our nation's population.

food costs?

Being a farmer. Our input costs are exceeding the prices we receive for our crops and vegetables that we raise. We donate a large amount of our produce to food pantries each year because I believe man should help fellow man. Mankind is here to help each other and not destroy each other.

healthcare costs?

I believe in education. If people were taught more about nutrition and lifestyle it could probably reduce hospital stays which in turn decrease the need for hospital stays.Fewer beds occupied would reduce costs. I realize that may sound radical however are not sick as much and do not need as much treatment.Less treatment less dollars spent dollars saved.

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to support discussion about science, history, and gender as necessary parts of educating children in our schools?

I taught history for 13 years. We do not need to re-write history. History is studied so we do not repeat it. It is a sham that is being put forth in rewriting history so some students and adults can feel better about themselves.

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to support public education?

Educating the masses is a challenge. However if we do not take up that challenge we will destroy our society and civilization

What do you think should be Indiana’s priority in terms of the electrical grid and energy generation sources? What have you done and/or what do you commit to do regarding a clean energy economy?

I have been a member of the Muncie Delaware County Planning Commission for the past 14 years. I still embrace clean energy for our community. This past year I was the lone vote on the commission for solar energy and I still hold that opinion

What have you done and/or what do you commit to doing to make your specific area of government more transparent to your constituents?

Be accessible to the voters who have had faith in you to vote for you. Never hide anything from anyone. Integrity, trust. and faith are key words for anyone who walks the face of this earth

Many of these questions in the office I am running for really does not apply. I tried to give an honest answer to each situation that was stated.
