Each year, First Choice for Women, a pregnancy crisis center in Muncie, Indiana, holds a "Walk for Life." As a response, Muncie Resists has hosted teach-ins about crisis pregnancy centers and reproductive health.

Abortion Laws in Indiana

Indiana has some of the most restrictive laws on abortions including the following:

  1. the requirement of an ultrasound, and the pregnant person must be given the option to view the ultrasound;

  2. pregnant persons MUST be counseled against abortion and then wait 18 hours before procedure;

  3. telemedicine can not be used to provide medication abortion;

  4. parental consent laws;

  5. state health plans under the Affordable Care Act can only cover abortion in case of life endangerment, severely compromised physical health, rape, or incest;

  6. a ban after 20 weeks except in cases of life or severely compromised physical health; and

  7. fetal tissue must be buried or cremated

Where can you get an abortion in Indiana?

There are only 9 facilities where a person can receive an abortion in 2017. 96% of Indiana counties have no facilities.
